With less than a week until the March 4 release of their anticipated sophomore album – Rest and Let GoThe Overseer are giving fans one last sneak peek of the album with a new song, “Paper Thin Houses,” debuting exclusively today at AltPress.com.

The Overseer are best known for their brand of intricate, heavily textured metalcore, but as an early review of the new album in Substream explains, Rest and Let Go finds the Arkansas band “carving a bright and auspicious path” in the post-Underoath era of heavy music. That new musical twist is on full display in “Paper Thin Houses,” which finds The Overseer channeling some unexpected influences.

“This was the last song we wrote for the record,” bassist Bradley Riggs tells AP. “We had a few extra days at the beginning of our recording session and basically just locked ourselves in the A room and cranked out what I think is the most fun and unique song on the album. It funnels weird influences at times such as U2, the Peppers, Rage, and even a bit of Paramore (bass-wise). We're all really happy how it turned out!”
